Argument for and against.

Toys in food.
Do some kids choose food because there's a toy in it?!

INTRODUCTION!

Some foods have/contain a little toy in it. For example: Mc Donald’s, of course, sell happy meals which is a kids pack and it contains a little toy in it from Disney or a new movie etc. Kids are wanting the Happy meals because there is the toy in it. There’s also another popular product which contains a toy and that is the Kinder Egg. In the egg you’ll find yourself a little orange container with a toy in it. Should these toys be necessary? Or should it be banned?

FORS!

- Kids need toys to entertain themselves and this would be the cheapest way.
- Kids should choose what they want
- Kids will play with it and not waste it

AGAINST!

- Kids only want the food or whatever it comes in because of the toy
- The toy will distract them and they wont eat anything.
- It’s a waste of money because they don’t eat what they get.
- People that are selling it are just trying to earn more money!
- Kids under 3 years old (or even older) can choke on the object!

CONCLUSION!

There are both good reasons on for and against and it should be banned because it’s a TOTAL waste of money.

Own opinion

I think it should be banned but to be fair, I think we should let the people decide what they want. I also think that people are actually old enough to decide for themselves. That was my opinion.

My non-chronological report.

My Non chronological report on CATS!

By Shari Hooper

Indroduction

A cat is of course a mammal. It gives birth to kittens and feeds them milk from herself. There are lots of types of cats. Cats are very intelligent mammals and is a predator. It is known that the cat hunts over 1,000 species (wild cats then). There are lots of different breeds and it is known that a lot of cats are different colours, maybe of dozen colours. Cats have lived in close association with humans since 9,500 years ago.
How they socialize.

There are lots of different communication systems that the cat uses. It uses for example: mewing, hissing, growling, clicking, chirping, purring and grunting. When you see them hitting or touching each other with their paws and their nails aren’t sticking out they’re not fighting but actually playing. It’s only when they have they’re nails out they are fighting.

TIP: If you are afraid of cats you should actually know that cats are more afraid of you than you are of them. If you now know that you maybe wouldn’t be that scared.

Habitat

House cats live inside the house or when it needs fresh air it spends its day outside running around the area. There are lots of different cats and they all have a different habitat.

The Cheetah

Habitat: Prairies, jungles and deserts.
Food: Cheetahs eat small antelope - Springbok, Steenbok, Duikers, Impala and Gazelle. They also eat the young of larger animals - Warthog, Kudu, Hartebeest, Oryx, Roan and Sable; as well as game birds and rabbits.
Vocal: • Churring: staccato growl, high-pitched • Nyam-nyam: cubs' sound when feeding • Ihn-ihn: mother's call to her young • Purring: like a house cat • Staccato purring: sound made by courting males • Bleating: like a meow - a distress call
Speed: When running 60 to 90 kilometres per hour. It is the fastest animal in the entire world.

The Tiger

Habitat: Most tigers live in forests or grasslands, for which their camouflage is ideally suited, and where it is easy to hunt prey that are faster or more agile. Among the big cats, only the tiger and
jaguar are strong swimmers; tigers are often found bathing in ponds, lakes, and rivers.
Food: Lots of different meats can eat up to 20 kilos of meat per day.
Speed: Tigers can reach speeds of about 60km/h (37mph).

Offspring

Kittens are born with different colours than the mum is. The mum lets her children drink milk until they’re about 2 weeks old. When they are 7 to 10 days old they for the first time open their eyes. When they are about 3 months old they, just like girls, have a sort of period. If it has diarrhea and blood is flowing with it too it has a sort of period. After the diarrhea the mark will still show on its bottom.

Food

- Fish, salmon, eel etc.
- Meat from a can.
- Mini cat biscuits.
- Normal original cat food.
- If a predator cat it’ll eat the food it has caught.
- Cat nip.
- Cat once in a while get cat sweets.

A little history

Fables and tales about cats are part of the culture of most people. Versions of the Puss in Boots fable are placed in almost every language, and the tale of Dick Whittington and his cat is very well known. The personality and beauty of cats has inspired many poets. A quotation from one of T. S. Eliot's poems appears at the beginning of this article. Readers of all ages enjoy books about cats.

Other information

The cat can live up till 20 years old, or maybe even older. There are lots of types of cats all over the world. For example the lion, bobcat and the Puma. The cat is one of the most well known animal in the whole entire world. A cat has about twenty-four movable
vibrissae ("whiskers"), in four rows on each upper lip on each side of its nose (some cats may have more), in addition to a few on each cheek, tufts over the eyes, bristles on the chin, the cat's inner "wrists", and at the back of the legs. The Sphynx (a nearly hairless breed) may have full length, short, or no whiskers at all.

What they do.

- If a predator they hunt in the day (but mostly at night).
- Sleep if tired.
- Play with other cats ( if there are any other cats there)
- Wait for attention.
- If a mother it’ll take care of its kids.
- Lick them selves clean.
- Look for food.

My poem, made at school!!

My 2nd story from at school!!!

By Shari Hooper

DIARY

Plain
and
Simple,
but evacuated

OPENING
19th of July 1943

My train left at eight o’clock in the morning for I was being evacuated because there was bombing in London. It’s very frightening to leave home and travel by your self, but my friend Sisillia was also being evacuated. We got on the train together and finally left London. My parents waved, mother sobbing in father’s arms. I waved back. When we were about halfway the train stopped. We heard mostly all wardrobes opening and found out that Germans had stopped the train. “Quick hide,” the conductor whispered. We found a huge drawer under the seat where Sisillia and I could fit in. The German came into out cabin. “Nothing, take the five we found Bob,” he said. The Germans must have caught five children. The train eventually started again and I started looking out of the window worried it would happen again. We finally got to a little town called York. We had to go to an office where we were to picked up by our new “mothers”. I wondered and wondered if she was going to be nice!

BUILD-UP
20th of July 1943
It took our new Mother one whole day to here for she was Scottish. In the morning I put my best dress on that I had sewn myself. She came that morning to the little motel I had to stay in. I looked up at the lovely figure standing in the doorway. She had long black glossy hair and a lovely china doll powdered face, she reminded me of mother but I could tell it wasn’t her because mother had lovely shiny green eyes and her evacuee mother had nice sky-blue eyes. Her name was Ms. Poppins, her full name was Ms. Rhiannon Varija Poppins. She took me and my brother and Sisillia to her home. She was ever so kind . She made chicken and leek pie for dinner with some baby spring vegetables, my favourite! At 6 o’ clock in the evening Seff started reading all the books, he couldn’t live without them. “Bed time,” Ms. Poppins said, but at the same time a letter was pushed through our door, it was from father. I took it and read the lovely hand writing in red ink, it said:
Dear Moira and Seff,
Mother has been taken away by horrible Germans, for I think they killed her. I will understand how you feel while reading this letter.
Sincerely loving you, Father.
P.S Don’t cry, I can tell when you’re crying, by heart!

My heart stood still!

DILEMMA!
21st of July 1943
That evening I went to bed sobbing like mad. I woke up at four in the morning for the danger alarm went off! “ THE GERMANS ARE ATTACKING!,” Ms. Poppins cried. We all hid in the bathroom but the Germans were already heading over to us! So we spread out. I went into the bedroom and hit behind the settee. Before I knew the German was heading to the bedroom looking in wardrobes, whisking duvets and mattresses of beds and pushing book cases over. At last he came to the settee and started out whisking all the cushions off. Then he threw the settee over, finding me! He grabbed me by my arms and threw me in a vehicle. I almost knew what was coming!

EVENTS 22nd of July 1943
I was held in a cell but I saw a mysterious figure in that same cell, I lit a candle that was in the corner. It was mother sitting in a corner, “ MOTHER,” I screamed. “Huh, Moira sweet pee ,” shouted mother,” how are you doing?”
“Quite well,” I lied,” father said you may have gotten killed, what’s that heap outside beside the jail?”
“They’re dead people, and that’s where your granny is lying…,” but mother was interrupted,” MAIL,” a German said firmly, he threw a lovely red envelope inside our cell, I opened it and it said:
Dear Moira,
I am Captain Widdershins, your father’s bos. I’m sorry to tell you this unfortunate event but your father had just perished by a bomb, tell your mother this unfortunate news.
Greetings from Captain Widdershins.

I gave the letter to mother and we both started crying,” we have to get out of here Moi!,” mother said.
“I’m thin enough,” I said started making my way to the bars, I stuck my head through the bars and there was a guard looking the opposite direction of my mother and I. I pushed my whole body through and on purpose I clapped my hands to get the guard’s attention. “
Get back here!,” the guard shouted running after me.
“You’re a slowpoke!,” I chuckled to the guard. Mother stuck an arm out and punched the guard right in the face! He was knock-out. I took the keys and unlocked the cell, we found a close by window and opened it. We actually jumped through the window and outside, my nighty flowing beside me.
It wasn’t a great height! :)

ENDING!
22nd of July 1943 ( Next part of escape
We ran and ran after the great jump. My mother punched a German out of a car. We got in. “Mother, will father come back tomorrow?,” I asked.
“No, he’s never coming back,” Mother said hopeful that he would come back. I thought that dead people could come back. I fell asleep for an hour, at seven o’clock we got back to the evacuee house. “Moira!!!,” Ms. Poppins cried,” are you alright dear?”
“Yes!,” I replied. My mother helped my evacuee mother and from that day on I knew father was never coming back!
Here’s the last letter I got:
Dearest Moira,
I’m sorry to say, but I think I’m going to die.
There are so many bombs being fired that I think
That I wont make it. Don’t worry if this letter
arrives late because the postmen aren’t working
that much now because of the bombs! Here’s a little present and promise you will bring me flowers if I die!

From your Loving father! Kisses

He knew he was going to die! I opened up the envelope and found a little diamond ring inside, the diamond was a locket and inside was a picture of my father and mother!
Love Moira.

My story I made at school

Shari Hooper

The golden rules broken!

Illustrated by Shari Hooper

Danielle was sitting in class looking out at the beautiful summer sun. “Why do we always have to be inside when it’s this lovely weather?,” She whispered to Shannon. “I don’t know!,” Shannon said back. “Silence girls!,” the teacher shouted and made all the children jump. Shannon asked if she could go to the toilet, but it was rejected by the teacher. “Typical teacher!,” Shannon shouted outside. “Come on Shan, you could go to the toilet now,” Danielle said back. “Yeah, I will go to the toilet now!,” Shannon agreed. She asked the lunch mum and she said yes. Shannon ran upstairs to the toilet, then the seven formers came in, Shannon was in the sixth form. “Hey who’s in the toilet?,” Kimmy asked from outside the toilet. Shannon didn’t answer because the seven formers found Shannon very cute. “Me!,” Shannon blurted out. “Oh, Hi lil’ Shan!,” Kimmy cried. Shannon ran out of the toilet and just managed to get away from Kimmy just in time. Shannon ran and said to the head teacher while she was running : “Move it!” and bumped her over, Shannon ran outside to Danielle. “Been running , Eh?,” Danielle said. “Yeah!,” Shannon said back. There came the head teacher very unhappy right over to Shannon! “Come with me!,” She shouted , You’re in deep, deep trouble !” “Uh-Oh,” Danielle added.
2
Danielle followed (Secretly) to the head teacher’s room. She knocked at the door. “Come in,” the head teacher said. “Ah, dear Danielle, come in, come in!,” she said. “Hi Miss Spelling,” Danielle said nervously. “What do you want?,” Miss Spelling asked ( the head teacher as you might have known). “Well, the lunch mum found a kid unconscious!,” Danielle lied, “She wants you to come look”. “Oh, dear, I’ll go straight away,” Miss Spelling confirmed. “Shannon stay here!,” She said. “Shannon come on now she’s gone!,” Danielle cried. “You’ll get into trouble, I’ll take the blame, I mean I’m already in trouble!,” Shannon said. She pressed against a lever (accidentally) so the sprinklers and alarm went on! “Oh, blooming hell!,” Shannon cried, “another golden rule broken!”. “That’s it, I’m going!”, Danielle cried. “Eh, oh yeah I’d take the blame,” Shannon said back. Then the head teacher came back and saw that Shannon had left. Miss Spelling went to the security computer and typed : Name Shannon Hayford, Age 12, Form six. Then a camera went on and had shown where Shannon was running and puffing. “There she is!”, she yelled. She locked both sides of the hall so she was locked in. But there was a ventilation shaft! So Shannon made her way to get through. Miss Spelling did not know how she was getting through walls! Now the problem really started! Miss Spelling revealed her own self because she was wearing a teacher suite and she was starting to get sweaty.

She was a kidnapper that had escaped from jail! She was still looking on the computer screen looking at how Shannon was getting through the walls. Shannon was still crawling through the shaft and jumped when she saw Danielle also through the shaft! “Shan!,” Danielle cried, “I thought you were still in Miss Spelling’s room”! “No I’d never stay back there,” Shannon cried, then they fell through a shaft into Miss Spelling’s room. They saw immediately that it was Sylvia the kidnapper, she ran and grabbed them both! She tied them against two chairs. She also grabbed sticky-tape and rope. “So…,” Sylvia said in a cruel way. “Let us go, can’t you see we want to leave?,” Shannon mumbled from under the sticky-tape on her mouth. “I’ll take the sticky-tape off shall I,” Sylvia said grinning. She ripped off the sticky-tape so they could speak. “You icky monster let us go!,” Shannon shouted. Sylvia went to the toilet. Danielle started crying so that her pretty mascara spoilt down her cheek. “Cry baby,” Sylvia said from in the toilet. They were in deep deep trouble in there, but not for long because Shannon found something from behind her on a shelf !

4

5

She found a pocket knife from behind her on a shelf! She undid hers and walked quietly over to Danielle and undid hers. They together walked to the door but Shannon heard flushing from outside the toilet but no-one came out! Danielle opened the door and both girls went outside and ran to find a teacher and tell them although they knew that they knew they had broken the “Golden Rules”. “Teacher, teacher!,” Danielle cried still her mascara dripping away. “What, what?,” Miss Lotts cried. “Come with us before it’s too late!,” Shannon squealed. “Go where?,” Miss Lotts mumbled. “To Miss Spelling’s room,” Danielle said almost bursting into tears again. The three of them ran through the corridor to go to Miss Spelling’s office. The teacher squealed when she saw Sylvia standing in the middle of the corridor! “See?,” Shannon whispered to Miss Lotts. “Yup, old Miss Lotts,” Sylvia said cruelly. Danielle ran secretly to the phone and dialed 911 to the police. They said they would come as quick as possible. Danielle came running back. Then Sylvia ran and grabbed Shannon tight and put a hand on her mouth so she couldn’t speak. “Oh my gosh,” Danielle squealed. Danielle ran and punched Sylvia right in the stomach !

6
Sylvia then let go. “Thanks Danielle,” Shannon said proud of Danielle. “Ok now the rest of her body,” Danielle said grinning. Miss Lotts ran to get the other children. Danielle and Shannon ran to Sylvia, kicking, punching and pulling. After that all the other kids came and laughed. All the other children also ran to Sylvia throwing garbage, kicking, pushing, pulling and punching! Then the police came through the door and shouted “ Hands up or I’ll shoot!,” Sylvia tried to get up and put her hands in the air. But then she jumped through the ventilation shaft. “Oh, No!,” Kimmy cried. “Hey Shannon, thinking what I’m thinking?,” Danielle said grinning. “Sure am,” Shannon said back also grinning. Both the girls went through the shaft and crawled after Sylvia. The girls couldn’t see her in sight yet! They caught a glimpse of the shaft sliding down, so they crawled back a bit so they could lie on their backs lying beside each other so they could slide down. There was Sylvia right in front of them, Danielle grabbed her foot and pushed the shaft below them open. They fell in a closet. The girls were shocked to see Miss Spelling tied up! Shannon let Danielle take Sylvia again so Shannon could untie Miss Spelling. “Thank you my dear Shannon and Danielle,” Miss Spelling cried.

8
They walked back together to where all the children were clapping and shouting: “Hooray for Shannon and Danielle”! “Take her to jail police!,” Miss Spelling shouted. “I’ll be back and you know it!,” Sylvia shouted. Danielle and Shannon went home for the weekend. “Dear kids I heard what happened on T.V, are you two OK?,” Miss Hayford asked tears filling her eyes. “Yup, Miss Hayford!,” Danielle said grinning. Because the girls had done a good deed, they were both allowed to go to Spain in Barcelona to visit their other best friend Grace. Shannon’s mum booked the flights. A few weeks later Shannon and Danielle were at their best friend’s house. “Oh my god,” Grace said astonished. “I heard about you two on the news and what happened at school!,” Grace said still astonished. “Yeah, Yeah,” Danielle and Shannon said grinning. The news started on T.V and the presenter said : Sylvia, yet again has escaped from jail ! Be careful people! “Oh-no!,” Danielle and Shannon said having a little smile on their face.

The End!
